World Series Game 6: This game had it all, 10 game-tying or go ahead hits, 6 homers, 5 errors, and web gems for good measure. In the 9th and 10th innings the Rangers got 1 strike away from winning the World Series but both times the Cardinals got the hit to stay alive. Finally in the bottom of the 11th David Freese came through with a leadoff home run to win the game and force a game 7.

ALCS game 1: KC’s Alex Gordon came up with the big hit with a three run homer in the top of the 10th. O’s put the pressure on in the bottom of the 10th with runners on first and second but came up short.

NLCS Game 6: After collecting a win in game 5 on the road against the Giants ace Tim Lincecum the Phillies looked poised to tie up the series at home in game 6. Early on it looked lake that would be the way things would go when they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Then the tide started to turn, the Giants defense tightened up not allowing a run for the next 8 innings and scoring 3 to win the game and the series.


  1. September 30th 2014: A’s 8  Royals 9

AL Wild card game: The A’s came out strong at home in the 1 game playoff with their mid-season pickup Jon Lester on the mound. KC came up with a comeback down 4 in the 8th inning to send the game into extras. The Royals stole 7 bases in the 12 inning classic.

  1. October 26th 2013: Red Sox 4 vs. Cardinals 5

World Series Game 3: After allow a game tying two run single in the top of the 8th Trevor Rosenthal was able to work a shutout top on the 9th to keep it tied. In the bottom of the 9th the Cardinals managed to scrap together a the game winning run on an obstruction call to give them a 2-1 lead in the series.

  1. October 7th 2012 Nationals 3 Cardinals 2

NLDS Game 1: The Cardinals scored both of their 2 runs in the second inning without a hit (4BB, WP, Sac fly). In the middle of the game the Nationals kept it close with stellar defense, Jason Werth robbed a potential two run homer in the 6th then in the 7th the Nats got a 5-4-3 double play to escape a bases loaded jam. The Nats then got a pinch hit two run single from Tyler Moore to take the lead. The win was the Nationals first in postseason franchise history.


  1. October 7th 2012 A’s 4 Tigers 5

ALDS game 2: Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th triple-crown winner Miguel Cabrera came to the plate for the Tigers with 2 on and two out. got him to pop up but A’s CF CoCo Crisp dropped the ball allowing two runs to score. The A’s took the lead back on a solo homer by Josh Reddick, but the Tigers managed a sac-fly in the bottom of the 9th for a walk-off win.


  1. October 7th 2013 Red Sox 4 Rays 5

The Red Sox scraped together a 3-0 lead to start the game with some close plays and timely hitting, but Evan Longoria erased the Rays deficit with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 5th. The Rays gave their closer Fernando Rodney a one run lead in the top of the 9th which he coughed up allowing the Red Sox to tie the game at 4. Jose Lobaton was able to pick up his teammate in the bottom of the 9th with a walk-off homer.


  1. October 21st 2010 Phillies 5 Giants 6

NLCS Game 4: In the top of the 5th inning, the Giants gave up their 2-1 lead on a 2-run double right after managing managing to protect it with an outfield assist from center. The Giants failed to hang onto a 5-4 lead in the 8th inning when Sergio Romo let up a game-tying double down the line. Finally in the bottom of the 9th Juan Uribe hit a sac-fly to bring in the winning run.


  1. October 20th 2011 Rangers 2 Cardinals 1

World Series Game 2: This game featured some great pitching and defense. The Cardinals struck first string together three singles in the 7th inning to take a 1-0 lead. In the top of the 9th it took some small ball for the Rangers to get on the board, stealing a base and knocking in two runs on back-to-back sac-flies. Neftali Feliz pitched through a lead-off walk and retired the last three batters to record a save for the Rangers.

July 27th 2011: Angels 3 Indians 1


The Indians took the lead to start this game scoring an unearned run off Ervin Santana without a hit. Santana then pitched three more inning of no-hit ball down by one run until Trout hit a sac-fly to tie the score. When Santana completed the no-hitter he became the first pitcher in Angels history to pitch a no-hitter without a shutout.

September 26th 2011: Cardinals 4 Astros 5


St. Louis came into this game one game back in the NL Wild card race while the Astros came in with a lowly 55-102 record. The Astros got the job done will small ball, scoring two runs on squeeze bunts including a suicide squeeze to walk-off the Cardinals. Despite the loss the Cardinals ended up rallying to win the Wild Card over the Braves anyway and they eventually went on to win the World Series.

May 2nd 2012: Phillies 13 Braves 15


Braves fall behind 6-0 facing the Phillies ace Roy Halladay, but battle back and tie it with a grand slam by Brian McCann. The game went back and forth with an offensive explosion for both teams until finally in the bottom of the 11th with the score tied at 13 Chipper Jones put the Braves on top with a two-run shot to center.

July 17th 2012: Mets 4 Nationals 5


The Nationals were shutting out the Mets through 8 innings thanks to some stellar pitching by Ross Detwiler but Tyler Clippard blew the save letting up a three run homer in the 9th. Rookie Bryce Harper hit a game tying triple in the bottom of the 10th and the Nationals claimed the victory on a walk-off wild pitch later in the inning.

May 20th 2013: Mariners 8 Indians 10

Mariners had a chance to put this one away in the bottom of the ninth but closer Tom Wilhemsen dropped ball trying to cover first on a ball hit to the first baseman allowing the tying run to score. The Tribe fell behind again in the top of the 10th but won the game on a three run walk-off homer by Yan Gomes.

September 29th 2013: Tigers 0 Marlins 1


Pitching duel from the start with Henderson Alverez pitching against Justin Verlander. After the top of the 9th Alverez had finished nine innings of no-hit ball but with the game still tied at 0 the no hitter was still incomplete. In the bottom of the 9th the Marlins scored on a wild pitch making them the first team since 1997 to complete a no-hitter with a walk-off.

April 23rd 2014: Giants 12 Rockies 10:

Slugfest: 9 Homers in the game, 6 by the Giants including a go ahead grand slam by Hector Sanchez in the top of the 11th inning. Game went back and forth in the high scoring affair. Rockies still put up a fight down 4 in the bottom of the 11th scoring 2 and putting a runner on first before a double play ended it.

Giants went ahead 4-3 in the top of the 9th on a double and brought in closer Sergio Romo. With a runners on first and third 2 outs, a double from Arenado brought in both the tying and winning runs wing a line drive double

July 28th 2015: Pirates 8 Twins 7


Twins rallied back from a 3-7 deficit in the bottom of the 8th but surrendered a solo homer to rookie Jung Ho Kang in the top of the nith. Pirates closed it out in the bottom of the ninth with a double play.

July 30th 2015: Rockies 8 Cardinals 9


Carpenter led the way for the Cardinals early with his first career 2 homerun game, but in the 4th inning the Rockies stormed back with a two run home run by pitcher Chris Rusin to tie the game at 4. In the end the Cardinals won on a walk-off walk in the bottom of the ninth, the fifth lead change of the game.

Mariners took a 6-3 lead on back to back home runs in the 5th inning, but the Astros battled back with a three run homer in the top of the 6th and a go-ahead bloop single by Colby Rasmus in the top of the 9th. With the win the Astros retook the lead in the AL West.

Yankees break up Erasmo Ramirez no-hitter to start the 8th inning but fall behind 1-0 in the bottom half of the inning. In the top of the 9th the Yankees scored 4 runs on AL save leader Brad Boxberger and hold on for the win.

Joey Bats’ 2 run homer in the bottom of the ninth pulled the Jays within 1 run in the bottom of the 9th but the Red Sox were able to hold on for the upset road victory.

Tigers thought they had a walk-off on a sac-fly in the bottom of the 9th but the play was overturned after replay review. In the end the Tigers still got their walk-off on an Ian Kinsler home run in the 11th.

Top 10 Most Exciting NFL Games of 2014/2015

1. Seattle Seahawks 24 vs. New England Patriots 28 (Super Bowl XLIX) (100/100)


This was definitely one of the most exciting Super Bowls in recent memory. Although things didn’t start out with a bang, the excitement quickly escalated after a slow 1st quarter in which neither team scored. The Seahawks punted to the Pats to begin the 2nd quarter, and their drive ended in a Tom Brady TD pass to Brandon LaFell. But the Seahawks answered right back with a TD of their own. This tied things up at 7-7, but both teams would manage to score one more TD before the end of the half. The Seahawks would score on their 1st two drives of the 2nd half and take a 24-14 lead. But that was the last time the Seahawks scored. The Patriots would score a TD with 8:00 left in the 4th, and another with 2:06 left to take home the title.

2. Seattle Seahawks 28 vs. Green Bay Packers 22 Final/OT (NFC Championship) (100/100)

imagesNot only was this one of the most important games of the season, but it also featured a wild comeback and finish. The Packers led 13-0 after the 1st thanks to two FG’s by and a TD pass by Aaron Rodgers. Things didn’t get any better in the 2nd quarter for the Seahawks, as the Packers took a 16-0 lead into halftime. But Seattle scored a TD with just under 5:00 left in the 3rd to cut the lead to 16-7. This score held until Crosby made another FG with 10:58 left, giving Green Bay a 19-7 lead. Seattle scored a TD with 2:13 to cut the lead to 19-14, and then recovered an onside kick. This set up a 24-yard Marshawn Lynch TD run, and the game-tying 2-point conversion. Seattle would win in OT on a Russell Wilson TD pass to Jermaine Kearse.

3. New England Patriots 35 vs. Baltimore Ravens 31 (AFC Divisional Round) (100/100)


This has become somewhat of a rivalry in recent years, and both teams had their season on the line in this game. The Ravens scored touchdowns on their 1st two drives to go up 14-0, but the Patriots answered with a TD to cut the lead in half. This score held until there was 3:57 left in the 3rd, when the Pats scored on Tom Brady TD pass. The Ravens answered before the half though, scoring another TD to take a 21-14 lead. Baltimore extended this lead by scoring a TD on their 1st drive of the 2nd half. But New England scored TD’s on their next two drives to tie things at 28. The Ravens scored a FG to start the 4th quarter.

4. Cincinnati Bengals 37 vs. Carolina Panthers 37 Final/OT (Week 6) (100/100)


This was the most exciting regular season game of 2014/2015. The Panthers led 7-0 after the 1st quarter, but the Bengals scored two TD’s in the 1st 3 minutes of the 2nd quarter. Both teams would trade FG’s to end the 2nd quarter, giving the Bengals a 17-10 lead at halftime. Carolina scored TD’s on their 1st two drives of the 2nd half, giving them a 24-17 lead. This score stood into the 4th quarter, until an Andy Dalton TD pass tied things up with 11:46 left. Both teams then scored TD’s on their next drive, tying the game again at 31-31. Mike Nugent hit a 38-yard FG with 2:11 left to give the Bengals the lead, but Graham Gano hit a FG as time expired to send things into OT. Both kickers made another FG in OT, which ended things in a 37-37 tie.

5. San Francisco 49ers 35 vs. San Diego Chargers 38 Final/OT (Week 16) (100/100)


Although the Chargers didn’t make the playoffs, this late-season comeback win kept their hopes alive. The 49ers led 28-7 at halftime thanks to a huge 2nd quarter in which they scored 3 TD’s. This huge lead would stand until there was 5:49 left in the 3rd quarter, when Philip Rivers threw a TD pass to Antonio Gates to make things 28-14. The Chargers would score a TD on their next drive as well, cutting the lead to 7. San Francisco scored their only points of the 2nd half on their next drive, which gave them a 35-21 lead heading into the 4th quarter. San Diego scored a TD with 5:21 left, and another with just 32 seconds left to send things into OT. The Chargers won in OT on a game-winning winning FG by Nick Novak.

6. Dallas Cowboys 17 vs. Washington Redskins 20 Final/OT (Week 8) (100/100)


Cowboys vs. Redskins is one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL, and this was the most exciting Monday Night Football game of the season. The Redskins scored first on a FG by Kai Forbath with 9:51 left in the 1st quarter, the only points of the 1st quarter. Dallas answered with a TD in the 2nd quarter, the only points of the 2nd quarter. Washington started the 2nd half with a TD, giving them a 10-7 lead. But Dan Bailey hit a 21 yard FG for the Cowboys with 4:07 left in the 3rd to tie it up. This score held until the Redskins scored a TD with 13:44 left. Dallas would come back with a TD on the next drive, tying the game again. Neither team was able to score the rest of regulation, but Forbath made a game-winning FG in OT to win it for the Redskins.

7. Atlanta Falcons 37 vs. New Orleans Saints 34 F/OT (Week 1) (100/100)


This was the most exciting game of the highly anticipated 1st week of the regular season. These teams are NFC South rivals, and this meeting was a shootout. But there weren’t many fireworks in the 1st quarter. The Saints took a 6-0 lead into the 2nd, and each team scored on both of their possessions in the quarter. New Orleans led 20-10 at halftime, and didn’t look like they could be stopped. However, the Falcons won the 3rd quarter 14-0 thanks to 2 TD passes from Matt Ryan. This gave Atlanta a 24-20 lead heading into the 4th. New Orleans scored 2 TD’s in the 4th and forced Atlanta K Matt Bryant to make a FG with :04 seconds to send things into OT. But Bryant would be the hero again in OT, hitting a 52 yard FG to win it for the Falcons.

8. Green Bay Packers 43 vs. Atlanta Falcons 37 (Week 14) (100/100)


The Packers went 9-0 at home last season, but this was their biggest test. The Falcons came into the game with a 5-7 record, and nearly pulled off a huge upset in this shootout. Not only that, but they almost came back from a 24 point deficit. The Packers took a 31-7 lead into halftime, thanks in large part to the efforts of RB Eddie Lacy. However, the 2nd half was a completely different story. Atlanta scored 17 of the next 20 points, to cut the lead to 10. Green Bay and Atlanta would then trade TD’s, making the score 40-30. The Packers scored next on a FG from Crosby, but the Falcons answered with a TD. This made the score 43-37 with 2:15 left. Atlanta tried an onside kick, but Green Bay recovered it and ran out the clock for the win.

9. San Diego Chargers 20 vs. Kansas City Chiefs 23 (Week 7) (99/100)


This was the most exciting AFC West matchup of the season. San Diego led 7-0 after the 1st quarter after Philip Rivers tossed a TD on their 2nd drive. But the Chiefs scored on the 1st play of the 2nd quarter to even things up at 7-7. The Chargers then went 4 and out, and the Chiefs answered with a FG to take the lead. However, KC scored a TD on their last drive of the 1st half to give them a 14-10 lead at halftime. KC kept the momentum rolling in the 2nd half with a FG on their 1st drive and a TD on their 2nd drive. SD responded with FG’s on their 1st two drives of the 4th quarter to tie things at 20-20, but gave KC too much time. Alex Smith drove the Chiefs down the field and Cairo Santos made a game-winning FG for KC with 26 seconds left.

10. New York Giants 28 vs. Dallas Cowboys 31 (Week 12) (98/100)


This a great NFC East rivalry, and this game also featured a big comeback by the road team. The Giants scored a TD on their 1st drive, and the Cowboys made a FG on their 2nd drive to make the score 7-3 after the 1st quarter. The first 3 drives of the 2nd quarter all ended in a TD, but neither team would score on their last two possessions of the half. New York took a 21-10 lead into halftime. However, Dallas won the 3rd quarter 14-0 and held a 24-21 lead going into the 4th quarter. Neither team scored on their 1st drive of the 4th quarter, but the Giants scored a TD on their 2nd drive of the 4th. This put Dallas in a tough spot (down 4 with 3:06 to go), but Tony Romo brought the Cowboys down the field and threw a TD pass with 1:11 left to win it.

Top 10 Most Exciting Bundesliga Matches of 2014/2015

1. Bayer Leverkusen 4 vs. VfL Wolfsburg 5 (February 14th, 2015) (100/100)

This was the most exciting match of the 2014/2015 Bundesliga season for a handful of different reasons. These were two of the top teams in the Bundesliga at the time, there were 9 goals scored, it featured a big comeback, and the winning goal was scored in extra time. Wolfsburg F Bas Dost also put on the most impressive individual performance of the season in this match, scoring 4 goals in the winning effort. Wolfsburg took a 3-0 lead in the 1st half thanks to goals in the 6th, 17th, and 29th minute. But between the 57th and 72nd minute of the match there were 5 goals scored, 4 for Leverkusen and 1 for Wolfsburg. This tied the match at 4-4, and Dost would become the hero after scoring the winning goal in 93rd minute.


2. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3 vs. FC Koln 4 (November 8th, 2014) (100/100)

Neither of these sides were amongst the Bundesliga elite last season, but this was still the 2nd most exciting match of the 2014/2015 campaign. However, this match definitely featured the most exciting 1st half of the season. There were 6 goals scored in the 1st half, with the match being tied 3-3 at halftime. The 2nd half was a much slower 45 minutes of play, but there was an exciting decisive goal scored that solidified this match as one of the best Bundesliga contests in recent memory. In the 83rd minute, Pawel Olkowski connected on a left footed shot from outside the box to give FC Koln a 4-3 victory on the road.


3. Eintracht Frankfurt 4 vs. VfB Stuttgart 5 (October 25th, 2014) (99/100)

This was one of the closest and highest scoring matches of the season, and it came all the way down to the wire. The first 20 minutes of the match were relatively slow, and the 1st goal was scored in the 21st minute by Frankfurt’s Alexander Madlung. But Stuttgart would answer with 2 goals in the 34th and 36th minute, to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. Stuttgart would then add to their lead with a goal in the 51st minute, giving them the only 2 goal lead of the match. This was short lived though, as Frankfurt scored 3 goals between the 57th and 65th minute to take back the lead. Frankfurt would hold this lead until the 81st minute, but Stuttgart finished on top thanks to goals in the 81st and 84th minute.


4. FC Schalke 3 vs. VfL Wolfsburg 2 (November 22nd, 2014) (96/100)

This match was one of the best of the season because VfL Wolfsburg nearly completed a 3-0 comeback. Schalke took the lead on goals in the 10th, 22nd, and 25th minute. The first two goals were scored by the man of the match, Schalke F Maxim Choupo-Moting. Wolfsburg cut the lead to 3-1 by halftime thanks to a 37th minute goal by Ivica Olic.Then things got really interesting when Nicklas Bendtner scored in the 74th minute for Wolfsburg, cutting the lead to 3-2. But Schalke would hold on down the stretch despite a handful of shots and a few scares from Wolfsburg.


5. VfB Stuttgart 3 vs. Bayer Leverkusen 3 (October 18th, 2014) (95/100)

This was the most exciting draw of the season, and it was truly the tale of two halves. Bayer Leverkusen were the heavy favorites in this match, even being on the road. Which made it seem nearly impossible for Stuttgart to comeback after falling behind 3-0 in the first half. Leverkusen came out of the gates roaring, scoring goals in the 4th, 9th, and 41st minute. But Stuttgart was able to regroup at halftime, and put on a show in the 2nd half. Thanks to goals in the 57th, 67th, and 76th minute, Stuttgart pulled off an amazing comeback to tie the match at 3-3. The rest of the match was a back and forth tussle, but neither team could drive home a winner.


6. Borussia Dortmund 2 vs. VfB Stuttgart 2 (September 24th, 2014) (95/100)

While the 1st half of this match wasn’t anything to write home about, the 2nd half alone made it one of the best of the season. Dortmund were heavily favored in this match, especially seeing as they were at home. However, neither team was able to find the net in the 1st half. It was Stuttgart that would take the lead in the beginning of the 2nd half thanks to a 48th minute goal by Daniel Didavi. Didavi struck again in the 68th minute to give Stuttgart a 2-0 lead, and Dortmund a whole lot to worry about. But Leverkusen scored in the 73rd minute on a right footed shot to the bottom right corner of the goal to cut the lead to 2-1. The moment of the match came in the 86th minute when Ciro Immobile scored to tie the match 2-2.


7. Bayer Leverkusen 3 vs. Werder Bremen 3 (September 12th, 2014) (95/100)

This match went back and forth despite Bayer Leverkusen taking 26 shots, and Werder Bremen only taking 8. Leverkusen also had 56% of possession in this match, and looked in control a few times. But Werder Bremen used a few timely goals to keep pace with Leverkusen. Despite falling behind 1-0, Bremen’s Fin Bartels was able to tie the match up with a goal from outside the box right before halftime. This score would hold until the 60th minute, when Franco Di Santo scored from the center of the box for Werder Bremen. Leverkusen would then answer right back with goals in the 63rd and 73rd minute. But this lead would only hold for 12 minutes, as Werder Bremen scored an equalizer in the 85th minute.

8. Bayer Leverkusen 2 vs. SC Paderborn 07 2 (October 4th, 2014) (95/100)

This was one of the most thrilling finishes of the 2014/2015 Bundesliga season. SC Paderborn 07 scored 1st on a 20th minute goal by Suleyman Koc from the top right corner of the box. Bayer Leverkusen would answer before halftime though, scoring a fast break goal in the 42nd minute. But the match turned upside down just a few minutes later when Hannover 96 scored in the 62nd and 64th minute to take a 3-2 lead. Hannover kept this lead until the 88th minute, when Davie Selke taped in a goal from just a few feet away.
