Top 10 Most Exciting MLB Series Remaining

With the MLB season coming to a close, there is still a lot that has yet to be decided. With just under two months of regular season baseball left, there are plenty of dynamic series that will shape the postseason. Here are the top ten most exciting series left in the season based off of Thuuz’s excitement ratings!

10: Athletics at Braves (August 15, 16, 17) –Average Thuuz Rating of 85

Right now, the A’s are barely first in the AL West, and the Braves are three games back in the NL East. Both teams are some of the best in the entire MLB, and are fighting for control of their divisions. Watch the A’s pitching try to shut out the Braves’ bats in what will prove the be a very exciting matchup.

9: Tigers at Pirates, Pirates at Tigers (August 11, 12, 13, 14) –Average Thuuz Rating of 85

While the Pirates are playing some incredible baseball right now, they are in third place in the NL Central, and will try to gain traction against the star-studded Tigers. While the Tigers are in control of the AL Central, they still need to play well, and worry about the talented Royals catching up with them. Both teams are planning on making the playoffs, and this series could seriously help or hurt both teams’ chances. Again, the devastating Pirates’ hitting will try to combat the lights-out Tigers pitching.

8: Giants at Brewers (August 5, 6, 7) –Average Thuuz Rating of 85

After shooting themselves in the foot with a huge losing period, the Giants basically need to win every game the can if they hope to keep up for the NL West. While the Brewers are where they want to be at the top of the NL Central, having two teams less than two games back from them is very threatening. Watch both teams go all-out in a must win series.

7: Dodgers at Brewers (August 8, 9, 10) –Average Thuuz Rating of 86

The Dodgers are easily one of the best teams in baseball right now, but have shown weakness when set up against other talented squads. The Brewers are hoping to exploit this weakness, and hit all over the Dodgers’ excellent pitching rotation. Expect these teams to show what they are really capable of just before the playoffs.

6: Giants at Tigers (September 5, 6, 7) –Average Thuuz Rating of 87

It will be the first time the two teams have played since the Giants swept the Tigers in the 2012 World Series, and tempers will surely run high. The Tigers are looking to widen the gap between them and the Royals in the AL Central, while the Giants try to hang on and pass the Dodgers for control of the NL West. This series will definitely be fun to watch.

5: Brewers at Dodgers (August 15, 16, 17) –Average Thuuz Rating of 88

Same teams as the seventh rated series, just later in the season. These teams will have had just enough time recently to get a good feel of the other, and this will be a very strategic. With this series in Los Angeles, everybody will be watching, and this game could turn out to be an offensive stalemate, or a barnburner. Be sure to tune in.

4: Nationals at Braves (August 8, 9, 10) –Average Thuuz Rating of 88

These teams are playing a lot of baseball against each other in the waning moments of the season, and there is no more important series than this. Unless both teams really turn it up, it looks like the winner of the NL East will make the playoffs, and the loser will just miss the last Wild Card spot. These teams will be sure to give it their all, and it will be very entertaining to watch.

3: Giants at Dodgers (August 22, 23, 24) –Average Thuuz Rating of 89

This series will surely be one of the best of the season, considering the vehement hatred both teams reserve for each other, in addition to the possibility that this series decides who wins the division and who gets the Wild Card spot. This will be one of the most even series of the year, as the Dodgers are 1.5 games ahead, but the Giants lead the season series with seven games, as opposed to the Dodgers’ six. If you can only watch two series this season, this needs to be one of them.

2: Orioles at Blue Jays (September 26, 27, 28) –Average Thuuz Rating of 89

This series poses a very interesting question for what will happen to the AL East, as both teams are neck and neck right now, and will have this as their last game of the season. The winner of the division, and possibly not making the playoffs at all are both realistic options for both teams. Watch the sluggers of both sides come out to play, and have a very exciting, offensive series.

1: Angels at Athletics (September 22, 23, 24) –Average Thuuz Rating of 89

This is the best series of the entire 180 day season of the MLB. The A’s and Angels are the two best teams in baseball right now, and they both hate each other with a burning passion. In addition, the A’s are only one game up on the the Angels. Although there is one series after this for each team to end the season, this will most likely decide who has the top seed in the playoffs, and who could potentially exit the playoffs after just one game. No matter who they are playing against, the players on both teams are some of the most exciting in the game, and will provide the most entertaining matchup. When you see the star-studded A’s pitching rotation against Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton, you know this is going to be good. The diehard and the casual fan alike need to tune in to this series, or they should stop calling themselves fans of baseball.
